Cost of a Storm Mountain Golden Puppy

The total purchase price for a male or female Golden Retriever puppy is $2,000 (the 500

deposit will be subtracted from the total purchase price).  We sell the puppies as family pet(s) with a “Limited Registration”.   This is to help protect the bloodline of our Golden Retrievers. We register our litter with the American Kennel Club (AKC) as a limited registration litter which means your dog will not be allowed to produce offspring.  The offspring will not be eligible for registration. People who buy Golden Retriever puppies with a “Full Registration” are usually wanting to show and bred their dogs.  A dog that is registered with limited rights is not prevented from entering in events such as, obedience, rally, agility, tracking, field trials, hunting tests, herding, etc

We require our owners to spay/neuter their dog by 18-24 months and then send us the verification when done (for more information please read the contract)

What is included with the price of your puppy

With our breeding program the Sire and Dam have not just been chosen because of their bloodline but have been health tested using the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) guidelines for Golden Retrievers.  These health screenings are vastly important in helping us produce healthy puppies.

During the eight weeks after the puppies are born, we are providing daily/weekly developmental care.  The puppy curriculum starts when they are three days old.  This is when we start with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI).

The five benefits that have been observed in dogs exposed to ENS are:

  1. Improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate)

  2. Stronger heart beats

  3. Stronger adrenal glands

  4. More tolerance to stress

  5. Greater resistance to disease

Early Scent Introduction (ESI) is introducing new scents to a newborn puppy. ESI was designed to enhance a puppy’s ability to react to and identify, specific scents.  ESI helps puppies gain awareness with their nose and also boosts their confidence.  For owners who are looking for companion, therapy and early service dogs, the dogs scent abilities are a high characteristic that is required for the dog to have.

We use a curriculum that uses activities that challenge and stimulate their senses, help build their confidence and trust by exposing them to new textures, sights, sounds, smells, handling, people, environments, and other dogs, etc.

We include in the price:
  1. AKC registration papers (limited registration/no breeding)

  2. Microchipped

  3. At 6 weeks a head to tail examination performed by our Vet

  4. Vaccination given at 6 weeks (Initial Distemper, PARVO Vaccine)

  5. Nail clipping and a bath

  6. A sample of the puppy food that we are currently feeding

  7. A comfort blanket and toy (we try and scent the blanket with the mother’s and littermate scent) to help with the transition to their new homes

  8. A Packet that includes, information on taking home your new puppy, health records, AKC Litter registration, a puppy vaccination schedule, and puppy training information
